Swift Essentials Published

2014 Book Swift

I’m pleased to announce that today my first Swift book, Swift Essentials, has been published.

Swift Essentials covers the nuts and bolts of the Swift language, from its data types and syntax through some of the built-in libraries and functions. The book intersperses examples throughout, which are also available on the book’s GitHub repository.

The book page on Packt’s website has more information about the contents of the book, and a free sample chapter which can be read on-line. The book is also available via the Safari on-line book service, as well as available to purchase electronically or in print.

I’d like to thank everyone who helped with the quick turnaround of the book, especially since the language was only publicly announced at WWDC this year. I’m sorry I didn’t get to it in time for Christmas, but it should start off your new year with a quick start if you want to get into Swift.

Update I have now published a second edition of this book
